Science and Reflexology
Reflexology is a science which deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way, a type of preventative maintenance. Reflexology is a serious advance in the health field and should not be confused with massage.
Since acupuncture was introduced, doctors have sought to find scientific proof the stimulation of certain points in the body help to heal illness and alleviate pain. Research in the U.S. and Western countries have produced discoveries that help shine light on the workings of reflexology as well as acupuncture. Dr. Roger Dalet, a specialist in pneumophtisiology at Beaujon Hospital in Paris said, "That stimulation of certain acupuncture points causes blood to be enriched and leads to improvement in respiratory function. Patients who have disturbed heart rhythms show improvement after acupuncture."
Reflex points are energy junctions. They relay and reinforce energy along meridian lines of the body. They can pass energy toward the nervous system and the organs. Experimenting and testing with electrodes has proven that electrical currents pass readily along the body's meridian lines. This proves there are electrical properties at the reflex points and at the meridian lines. After months of testing, chemical messengers were discovered in the brain. These messengers are known as endorphins. The endorphins block the transmission of pain impulses from one neuron to another. In this way they are able to supress pain and act very similar to morphine. In 1976, Dr. Bruce H. Pomeranz, a neurophysiologist at the University of Toronto, made the discovery that acupuncture liberates these very endorphins. Reflexology accomplishes the same effect using pressure instead of needles.
Reflexology helps nature open the channels of health to all parts of the body. Reflexology sends a supply of life force through the meridians of the body like a healing shockwave.
